Yes indeed.

The Kennedys tried, even being so bold at to accept the plagiarized British term of ‘Camelot’ to describe John F and Jackie’s occupation of the White House.

Bang Bang to both John and later Bobby…and that’s not even getting into what happened to John Jr.

Wasn’t Richard Harris offered the role of John F. Kennedy but Harris wanted a singing role?

What, “MacArthur’s Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain…
” wasn’t enough Richard?

Aaah, but when it comes to a de-facto American royalty…one need look no further than the Bush family.

The jump from Head of the CIA was easy during the ‘cack’ Nixon and Ford years, to Vice President during an alzheimer’s-ridden Presidency, cack cack, with Reagan, best of buddies I believe to your Baroness Thatcher, of Kesteven in the County of Lincolnshire.

Then just a waltz down the carpeted aisle to actually sitting in the Oval office for George Bush Sr.

He gets punted out by Bill Clinton who, along with Monica, forever changed the office spelling from the v to the r.

But I digress.

So when a barely literate word salad scrambler like George Bush Jr., whose eyes do indeed show clear signs of royal inbreeding, ascends the throne, aided and abetted by his brother Jeb, who just happens to be the Governor of the swing state of Florida, which had enough voting irregularities to make Putin look like a democrat, no one really points out the nepotism.

And of course the election was validated by the Supreme Court, two of whom were appointed by George Sr., (Clarence Thomas and David Souter).

Well doesn’t that just look like a relatively bloodless coup?

Well, until Bush Jr. needs a war to legitimize his presidency.

I mean why didn’t George Jr, during his inauguration, just turn and grab the crown from Evangelical heavyweight Franklin Graham, the son of the multi-millionaire Billy Graham Jr., the self-proclaimed ‘spiritual advisor to the Presidency’?

Because it would add a Royal to Dimwit and forever link the Bush name to that rather short French fellow, even though he wasn’t, often depicted with his hand holding a flintlock derringer under his shirt.

Royal families indeed.

The Catholic Kennedys versus the Protestant Bushes and where’s a Becket when you really need one?
