Very well said.

Remember that conflict waiting in line to order a falafel in Tel Aviv, and trying to board a bus in Jerusalem. Offering my seat to a pregnant Bedouin woman with groceries and having an IDF soldier, with Uzi, take it.

Most Canadians do not have sharp elbows.

As to heterogeneity...yes.

During Canada's 'Truth and Reconciliation' process with our Indigenous population in general, and the Indian Residential School travesty in particular, the Protestant Churches offered not just apologies but payments. Indeed, The Anglican Church of BC sold property, eventually having to declare bankruptcy.

The Catholic Church on the other hand, has of yet to surrender important documents let alone pay anything. They are in court fighting it.

While most of Quebec is still nominally considered Catholic and the rest of Canada Protestant, religion does not hold sway over our political discourse. But the cultural influence will still take a generation or two to further dissipate.
