Understatement.

Control is one thing, armed thuggery is a better turn of phrase.

The actions of the IDF, and the emboldened armed settlers in the West Bank, raiding Arab villages, bulldozing homes and arresting children, if not shooting them in the head, are skirmishes compared to the wholesale destruction of Gaza.

There are three major players in this internecine conflict.

The Zionists and their new religious extremists in what is now called Judea, no longer the occupied West Bank. They are without a doubt part of an rabid escalation enacted in order to claim more land while ethnically cleansing more land.

The secular humanist Israelis. Many who are clearly appalled at the wholesale destruction and recognize the damage being done to Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and Israel's international reputation.

The Israeli Arabs who know enough to keep silent and yet are a full 20% of Israel's population.

The fourth player is of course the arms dealer of such wholesale slaughter, the United States.
