Where fat ladies, and dwarves and midgets and amputees and other 'freaks' are on display...free for the gawking, well, for amusement and the need for smug aggrandisement - -there but for the grace of...

No solace in the fact that we the patrons were once the paying clowns.

Once television usurped the allure of the circus sideshow, save Jerry Springer, the ones paying the price are people like Lolo or Dennis or Loffredo.

And as you so adroitly point out, radical acceptance has only made it worse. Why, to challenge Lolo or Dennis or Loffredo's self-effacements can only lead to one conclusion: you are the one with the mental health problem.

You're phobic. You're the irrational one. The one filled with fear.

Ignoring if not condoning mental illness is a vapid superiority virtue signal at the very least, and a narcissistic impulse at the worst.
