Reminds me of two of Vancouver streets being named after Crimean War battles, Balaclava and Alma, while others are named Waterloo and Trafalgar...even one named after a battle which took place during The War of Spanish Succession: Blenheim!

All events which took place before Canada became a nation (1867) and before British Columbia joined Confederation (1871).
