Thanks Lynx. For many things.

First, the erudite response and the diction: deft, deigns and palpably.

Second, you brought a smile to my face…I decided to write some stories because of the ‘heavy, confessional type’ of writing’ I too was coming across, which when the blame and shame pronouncements started, well, I was getting triggered and it felt like I was writing blah, blah blah ‘how dare you’ divisive blather responses which were really getting me nor the article writer anywhere.

And that’s not even getting into the fact that as a culture, we really do need to lighten up.

An empire spiralling into fascism with a demagogue at the helm, a pandemic hyped…well maybe…the division of wealth so violently obscene it boggles the mind, and that’s not even getting into the dangers inherent in identity politics and its weapon of #choice…so then I asked myself, okay, what’s the anecdote to such soul searing and isolating cynicism?

Lighten up.

My first, if I may be so bold, was Trump as Troll.

As I was a high school teacher and counsellor back in the day, groups always fascinated me. One in particular was the library monitors…where did they go on weekends, what were their conversations like and did that love of books carry them through to adulthood.

And so I made up the Mythological Allusion Society and well, had fun illustrating it…well, if its good, the story should speak for itself.

Thanks again,

Daryl
