Strategic and Security Concerns: The Arab states were concerned that the Jewish state would turn out to be a strategic foothold for Western influence in the region and a threat to their security.

Proven countless times, proof of which was the Lavon Affair and the British-French-Israeli invasion of Egypt and the Suez Canal.

BTW: Israel provided the excuse and invaded first.
