OMG, I first studied the Albigensian Crusade and the siege of Toulouse while at University...which is, through the extension of your logic, a place filled with the dumbest ideas.

Then the siege of Vienna, 1529, when relief came in the form of the Polish Winged Hussars...I often wonder if Peter Jackson used it as inspiration for his Ride of the Rohirrim.

I also studied how 12 years of French occupation of the Rhineland after the Treaty of Versailles helped to create a siege mentality amongst many Germans.

Therefore, not sure why you think a siege mentality can only affect non-Jews, as if Israelis who follow the Jewish faith are somehow immune from what is a recognized psychological condition.

As to terrorism...after visiting Israel, I returned to focus on Middle-Eastern history.

One of my last papers was on the terrorist activities of the Irgun, the Haganah, the Lehi and the Stern gang.

IOW, Israel will not be through with its past until the past is through with it.
