Well, for starters, maybe don't use racist epithats like 'white-ass'...that might tone down the hostility of the article just a bit.

Perhaps as an analogy:

I had the horror/honour to visit the Holocaust Museum Yad Vashem and The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.

The thought that I was not Jewish did not once arise ...I was there to bear witness to the very worst of humanity.

Perhaps what Ms. McLeod is missing is that maybe, just maybe, white people, in a town which has a large majority white population, those people were there to do the same.

And that's a good thing, right?
