Of course a lot of police reform is necessary for the very reasons you stated.

But it has to be pointed out that poor white people are shot by police too. It’s also a class issue.

And did anyone ask poor black people in crime-ridden areas if they wanted to defund the police? And some dolts actually wanted to disband a whole police department not just siphon off money for alternate forms of reducing crime.

And please, looting is not a legitimate form of protest as it delegitimizes the very real plight of black men and some women being summarily executed by police during a road check or shot by accident during a no-knock warrant.

As to the LGBTQ issues. Anyone with an ounce of compassion knows that it shouldn’t be an issue. Period. Over.

However, if inclusivity is a new SJW orthodoxy, and if any request for dialogue, such as Lia Thomas swimming against women who didn’t have the advantage of his early testosterone growth (to stress the point…a request for dialogue), is treated as apostasy, worthy of a label like transphobic, then you will indeed have people who will not engage with their neo-cortex.

“You’re trying to jam something down my throat!” may often be the ill informed reply.

And that is giving the Republicans all the meme ammunition they need and once in control, then indeed the term phobia will earn its legitimacy.
