Just reading through LS O'Brien and Rex Kerr's debate which made me come back to this:

"But the dysfunctional politicization of critical theory in its “political activist” form is a problem."

Most readers are not as erudite as O'Brien and Kerr...the dialectic is a beautiful tool but it is often lost on those whose attention spans have been so skillfully manipulated that most couldn't bridge a mud puddle. Once more the sagacity of Postman's 'Amusing Ourselves to Death' has me shaking my head.

The point is that CRT, as presented by both sides in what is definitely NOT a reasoned debate, is more a shuttlecock version in a badminton game of the damned, while outside the cranial gymnasium, the country descends from chaos to insurrection to civil war.

IOW, CRT has become a weapon not a theoretical debate.
