I concur with much of what you say but what I see happening is that race has become the default explanation for any kind of conflict, any kind of analysis, in such a knee jerk fashion that the positive gains have become so lost because some people still think it’s the 1960’s and the racists are everywhere.
And that’s just not true.
Such extreme positions have become so commonplace as to be hyperbole…that every person who offers a contrarian opinion to the current divisive identity political narrative must be white and named Karen.
Or any position against the new wave of non-egalitarian feminism must be written by a misogynist incel men's rights activist.
All of this is so antithetical to honest dialogue because people are keeping their heads down or better ‘on their shoulders’.
Lastly, if you and I were having this debate, reasoned and nuanced and filled with respect for each other’s path, we’d think we were back in 1998.
The absolutism of this virtue signaling SJW age is so staggering in its stark demands for conformity that I am pleasantly surprised we’re having it at all.
So thank you for that…perhaps I did jump to conclusions, thinking this was just another white people are bad article.
