Your writing reminds me of my English 101 Prof, Gordon Elliott, a great mind, who said this of the writer:

"She goes beyond the pale of our civilized world and learns much. She returns with a boon: the ability to tell us much of who we are and what we have become: in short, by telling us the truth, she helps us avoid the dangers of hubris."

"And often, we are so galled by what she tells us that we banish her or worse."
