Bravo. David.
It's the absolutism if not extremism behind such 'progressive' dogma that enables its adherents to so ludicrously label at any contrarian voice or opinion as racist, homo-or-transphobic or fascist.
A prime example is Jordan Peterson. A Jungian. A clinical psychologist who researched and published articles on the rise of dictatorial powers in 20th Century Europe. His focus was on Hitler, as right wing fascist and Stalin as the converse: both caused the deaths of millions.
Like all serious academics, his study was undertaken and published as a cautionary tale.
How and why did this happen and how can we be sure it won't again?
So when he sees the same modus operandi of intolerance at play with SJW and Woke movements and calls attention to it, he's the one branded as fascist.
And because of the colour of his skin, he's a white supremacists or because of his attitude to morals, or the lack thereof in political discourse, he's also labelled an old white christian male. In short, he's toxic.
Bottom line: labelling is a convenient way to ignore the lack of scholastic rigour in one's argument. One doesn't need to read any of his work, one doesn't need to exercise critical thinking, one only need to react and follow the herd. If 'my tribe say he's bad...well then, that's good enough for me.
