Amy, we are under siege.

Bombarded daily with enough negativity and manipulation that we forget that we are the ones holding the device...close enough to put under our pillow, waiting for the meanest, disrespectful tooth fairy to transmogrify into the stuff of nightmares.

People under siege want ironically a dream of harmony on their side of the walls. So great their fear of the barbarians at the gate that they will embrace and enforce levels of conformity anyone in the mid-20th century would clearly see as fascism.

Any culture under siege eventually turns on itself. People become suspicious and negative and transfer their anxiety unto the supposedly 'weak' or 'different'.

Any person trying to call the mania for what it is is relegated to the Casandra file.

And so it must be for Aaron Bushnell.

Just as Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Thích Quảng Đức, who self-immolated in the streets of Saigon to protest a dictatorial US coronated Diem Catholic regime, Aaron Bushnell made a powerful statement and paid with his life.

His truth is as you wrote, The US is by supplying billions of dollars to an apartheid state, complicit in genocide.

What escapes me is that the US was an apartheid state. It was called segregation. And lynching and Jim Crow laws and economic servitude and ghettoization its hallmarks.

Why support a nation like Israel which is doing the same and worse?
